Central Pacific Producers Limited (CPPL) is a company that wholly owned by the Government of Kiribati through the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Development. It is base and located in Tarawa, the Gilbert Group. The company was incorporated in May 2001 as a commercial operation to support national development and marketing of resources. The company over time has diversified its operation to also shipping services as well as crewing for the foreign fishing vessels. Agent for the foreign fishing companies in South Korea, Taiwan and China, crewing which deals with recruiting and replacement of local seafarers on foreign fishing vessels which the main employment for male citizens. Finally selling product at an appropriate prize such as reef and deep bottom fish, sun dried organic seaweed, ice blocks and fishing gear.
